European participants, members of ASTEROID PROJECT GROUP (APG) :
An Irish, two English, Polish, Portuguese and French
Theme: ASTEROIDS / "In Orbit with Europe!"
Using the robotic telescopes:
- Faulkes Telescopes class 2 meters, located at Haleakala (FTN, Hawaii)
and Siding Spring (FTS, Australia),
- Ironwood North Observatory (INO2:16", INO1:10") in Arizona
via European Hands on Universe Poland.
Educational project :
Students from different teams work together on the project and share them (mail, video conferences, telescope sessions, facebook etc.) :
- Exploitation of the images taken at Faulkes Telescopes and INO telescopes in physics and mathematics,
- From reading books of science fiction* (English, Polish and French authors), we thought of writing a short story in science fiction on the topic of asteroids, the students write the final document in English and of course, in their respective languages. We will also study more general s-f literature,
- Students will Illustrate the short story in drawing classes,
- Comparison of results between the students.
